Someday, something is going to work out. Someday isn't this day, but that's okay. God meets me at today, and that's where I want to be.

Resolutions for 2012

I LOVE new years. It's an opportunity to look at the past year and get focused for the next one. I made a list of about 40 resolutions. Here's the top picks.

1. Read the Bible in a year
Last time I did this I was 13, which I now realized was about 8 years ago.. Time really does fly. I have the YouVersion app on my iPhone, and I've been following one of their reading plans. Click Here to check it out. You can start it any day of the year and the app will keep track of your progress.

2. Be the person I'd want to be with
Would you agree that for the most part, we want people in our lives because of the way they make us feel, and what they offer us? I know that's the way I am if I'm honest with myself. I don't want to be a part of that mindset anymore. I'm hoping that this year I can look for ways to enhance others life instead of looking for others to enhance mine.

3. Switch out coffee with tea
I don't know if I would say that I have a coffee addiction, but I do love having hot drinks, and coffee is my go-to. I could save some money and be healthier if I switched from my usual Chai or Vanilla Latte's to Green Teas.

4. Give more
I want to be a cheerful giver, and I want to quicker to give of my time and resourses to people who need them.

5. Create more
My minds always spinning with new recipes I should try, craft ideas, and miscellaneous art projects. This year I'm going to make creativity a priority.

6. Spend time with the people I'm with
I think it's important to spend my time with the people I'm with and I want to give others my focus when I'm with them. Which means not texting or being distracted by other things when I'm hanging out with people.

7. Talk less, listen more
Talking is easy. It's not always as easy to listen and understand others. People who care more about listening to others than expressing themselves are rare.

8. Organize my time
I've never been much of a prioritizer. So this year I made a day planner. I think as long as I use it consistently, I'll be on my way to being the new, more time efficient me.
9. Write more
I want to be consistently writing this year. Last year I wrote songs about almost everything I went through. I hope to do the same this year and be constantly improving and learning as I go.

10. Work hard.
"Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. " - Tim Notke
Live every day by this.
